Benmarl Winery Wedding: Megan & Nicholas

The shoes would be blue, that much she knew. And the bouquet would most likely be white. The dress would go on button by button, loop by loop, as these things do. And when it was done, it would be a perfect fit. A car would be waiting, and time would march on. And somewhere through the sentries of seconds, it would take her with it. These things she knew. But what she could never be prepared for, what she didn't already know, is how much more she could love him on this day than all the other days combined.

The sky would be blue, that much he knew. And her dress would most likely be white. The thoughts of their life together played on in his head scene by scene, loop by loop, as these things do. And when it was done, he knew it would be a perfect fit. Because she would always be the one there waiting, as their time together marched on. And somewhere through the course of years, their hearts would go with it. Even to their very last day. These things he knew. And what he was already prepared for, what he someone already knew, is how much more he would love her on that day....

Than all their other days combined.

Married: Megan & Nicholas

Megan & Nick were married on the most perfect of perfect kind of days at the Benmarl Winery in New York. They lived a day where the shoes were blue and the skies were blue, and not a single smile was wasted. Together with their friends & family and a doggie named Marshall, they promised forever. And not a person in the room didn't believe it. M&N, we can't thank you guys enough for the honor of capturing your love. And for the gift that is your friendship. You two, are two of our most favorite people on the PLANET. And your love shines bright for all to see. My hope is that you will love like this always....more on the next day than all the other days combined.

So much love,
J&M

Rhinebeck NY Wedding: Alexis & Ross

As the laces were tied and the ribbon was fastened, she thought about him...well, the two hims actually....who had left a criss-crossed pattern on her heart. One, her dad, who she was missing so very much on this day. He had been her hero, the standard against which all other men would be measured. And with every passing tick of the clock, her heart ached out his absence just a little bit more. The other, her best friend. Who she had been counting down the minutes with until this very day. The one who had taken her broken heart and sewn it together again. Put it back together piece by piece. The way that only love can. And so in this moment, yes there was bitter....and there was sweet. Just like there is in life. But wherever you looked....there was love.

As the bow was tied and the suspenders were fastened, he thought about her....well, the two hers actually....who had left a criss-crossed pattern on his heart. One was the girl he fell in love with. She was his whole world, the standard against which all other girls would forever never measure up to. And with every passing tick of the clock until he saw her, his heart raced just a little bit more. The other, was the wife he knew that she would become. In an instant, he could see a lifetime with her stretching out from this very day. The one who would take their two lives and stitch them together into one. Put them together piece by piece. The way that only love can. And so in this moment, there was what has been and what will be. Just like there is in life. But whichever direction you looked....

There was love.

Married: Alexis & Ross

Alexis & Ross were married on an incredible day in Rhinebeck, NY. Theirs was a day that was filled to the brim with grace and elegance and beauty. But most of all...there was love. There were tears. There were hugs. There was laughter. And boy oh boy was there some dancing. But above all else, love ruled the day. Alexis & Ross, there are some people in this world that you just instantly know you're going to do everything you can in your power to become friends with them. You two are exactly those kind of people. So just so you guys know....we're now friends for life! :) We may or may not be showing up for Thanksgiving dinner....I hope that's cool! :) My hope for you, is that you love like this always. Leaning on each other in the bitter, sharing with each other in the sweet. And that either way, wherever you look...you always find love.

So much love,
J&M

Carousel House Wedding: Natalie & Ryan

She sat in a blue room and felt her heart race a little faster. She swung from happy to excited to nervous...and then back again. And with each pass, her heart soared a little higher. Around her, her bridesmaids laughed and spun around the room in navy dresses. While the light caught flecks of gold and scattered them to the ceiling. Like stars in the night sky. Everything around her was suddenly somehow moving in fast forward and slow motion all at the same time. She heard herself say she was ready. And then everyone around her cheered. And right then, somehow, she already knew....this was the kind of day when magic happened.

He stood in front of a blue water backdrop, and felt his heart race a little faster. Later they would sit side by side on the swings, and walk up and down the beach together...and then back again. And with each pass, his heart would grow a little fuller. Around them, the most important people in the world would laugh and spin around the room on a carousel from the 1920s. While the light caught flecks of gold and scattered them to the ceiling. And the two of them would sit out together and stare up at the stars in the night sky. But right now everything was suddenly somehow moving in fast forward and slow motion. All at the same time. He heard himself say forever. And then everyone around them cheered. And right then, somehow, he already knew....

This was the kind of day, when magic happened.

Married: Natalie & Ryan

Natalie & Ryan were married on a day that was nothing short of pure magic at the Carousel House at Lighthouse Park. And the day came together even more perfectly and full of whimsy thanks to the tireless efforts of Lindsay Mastroianni and the whole Sixpence For Your Shoe team (Nicole, I'm giving a shout out to you!) who we absolutely ADORE!! These two were surrounded by love and light and hope for a beautiful life together. And more hugs than you can fit in a normal day...thankfully, this was most definitely not your normal day. Put it this way. Natalie actually works at Facebook, and if I could give their day a million likes I would. And I would do it all while wearing my signature Mark Zuckerberg hoodie. Natalie & Ryan, thank you guys SO much for having us there with you on your day. It is an honor that we will not soon forget. My hope is that you love like this always....with hearts that are full, and a life full of the kind of days that make you believe in magic.

So much love,
J&M

Saltwater Farm Vineyard Wedding: Lauren & Anthony

He stood alone and faced two double doors, the whole of his future waiting just on the other side. He held a handwritten card with her name on it, and a seal on the back just to keep it a little extra safe. To keep it protected between just the two of them. He buttoned and re-buttoned his jacket. Was reminded of the hand-tailored rule, always, sometimes, never. And as every second seemed to drag on and on and stretch out toward forever, he stood waiting for the prize of a lifetime somewhere behind door number two.

They stood together and faced one another, the whole of their future waiting just on the other side. He held a ring in his hand with her name on it, and put an arm around the small of her back just to keep her a little extra safe. To keep this moment protected between just the two of them. He heard and repeated his vows. Was reminded of the hand-tailored rule. always, sometimes, never. Always love her. Sometimes, even when you're right, be the first to say you're sorry. And never ever let her go. And as the seconds blurred by faster and faster and they were announced into forever, he stood in awe at this prize of a lifetime together.

And was suddenly so grateful....for door number two.

Married: Lauren & Anthony

Lauren & Anthony were married at the absolutely spectacular Saltwater Farm Vineyard on a day that was cut from the same cloth. Together with their closest friends & family, they celebrated, they hugged, they loved, and they started a life off right. Every detail of the day was executed to flawless perfection with help from the amazing event staff from Gourmet Galley. The blooms provided by Hana Floral Design were nothing short of jaw dropping. And at the end of the night when we hugged them goodbye, I was reminded with a flood of absolute certainty why we do what we do. L&A you guys treated us just like we were part of the party. Friends first, who also happened to have cameras. Your love is infectious, an inspiration to everyone around you. And your hearts, the way you treat people, should be an example for us all to follow. There are not enough words in all the world or the english language dictionary to express how much that means to us. And just know, that whether you counted on this or not, you now have two new friends for life! :) My hope is that you will love like this always....because really, the world needs more examples like yours.

SO much love,
J&M

Hudson Valley Wedding: Stephanie & Stu

She rounded the corner to peek in the mirror just one. more. time. She smoothed the fabric on the front of her dress, and a deep breath gave way to a huge smile. She was getting married. Today. Their day. The months had turned into days had turned into minutes. And now their time was here. The dress, the hair, the makeup were all in place. All that was left, all that she needed was him.

As she rounded the corner, he fought the temptation to peek just one. more. time When she finally got to him, he smoothed the hair back from the side of her face and a deep breath gave way to a huge smile. This was it. They were getting married. Today. Their day. In a second, he could see the days stretching out into months and into years ahead of them. Their time was just starting here. The archway, the music, the guests were all in place. And from now and for the rest of his days he knew....

All he needed was her.

Married: Stephanie & Stu

Stephanie & Stu were married on a day when the sky itself lit up and put on a show in their honor. A parade of pink, purple and blue settled in over the sleepy valley below, and took their seats as they watched two people start a life together. Together with their friends & family, Stephanie & Stu promised forever. And when they were done, even the sky itself couldn't help but shed a tear or two. S&S it was our honor to be your photographers, but it is honestly a much bigger honor to be your friends. Thank you, thank you, thank you for having us there with you on your day. My hope is that you will love like this always. Holding on to one another, and with a lifetime full of the kind of sunsets you inspired that day.

So much love,
J&M
