We hope you are all gearing up for a relaxing & fun weekend, doing something you love! And we can think of no better way to send you off than with this sweet (if super chilly!) engagement shoot we just did with Emily & Tolga. These two are getting married tomorrow at The Branford House & we can't wait to celebrate with them! And we just thought you guys should "meet" them before they're married!
We have been some busy little bees over here, cranking out a ton of shoots and putting some really BIG plans in place! Stay tuned next week for some major announcements on a ton of fun stuff that we have in the works! Let's just say this is going to be our biggest Black Friday launch day yet! And you aren't going to want to miss it!
But for now, here is some prettiness to tide you over. We met up with Tracy & Andy a little while back to do a quick engagement shoot with them, followed by Mexican food & margaritas at one of their favorite little haunts, Tequila Mockingbird (now just tell me that's not the BEST name for a mexican restaurant you ever did hear!) These guys are going to be getting married at the absolutely beautiful Waveny House in just a few short weeks, so we met up with them to walk the grounds, hear their story, and find out just how they fell in love with this place (and each other!) in the first place! I hope you enjoy and I can't WAIT to share their big day!
Today we are out in San Francisco teaching our next to last J&M Lighting Intensive of the year (the LAST one of the year takes place on Nov 8th in CT, so be sure to grab your spot if you haven't yet)!! But we just wanted to hop on real quick to introduce you to the absolutely gorgeous Genevieve & Elliot. We got together with these guys to do their engagement shoot all around the Yale campus. These two met while in school at Brown (when they both happened to join a certain recreational league involving beer & ping pong :) So Yale made for the perfect backdrop! We can't wait for their big day in December, when we'll be shooting their wedding at the stunning De Seversky Mansion. But until then you can get to know them through their pictures as you.....
Well, actually. It all started at work. And then a happy hour for work. And then the cookbook. But more or less, it started with a cookbook.
Guillaume was new to work, and he instantly caught Jennifer's eye. So when a group of co-workers was heading out for a drink and Guillaume invited her along, she happily agreed. That night they found themselves talking, as one by one their coworkers started to leave. Until finally, they looked up and found it was just the two of them left. Not wanting his time with her to end, Guillaume thought quickly and invited Jennifer over to his place the next night to make a recipe out of his new cookbook. And again, she happily agreed.
Jennifer had assumed that Guillaume must have been some sort of master chef to suggest cooking as their first date. But when she got there she realized that not only was this his new cookbook, it was his first one as well. And this would be the very first thing he would be making out of it. Crepes. To remind him of home. And again, over wine and cheese, the two found themselves talking. Until they looked up, and not a crepe had been made. So again being quick on his feet, Guillaume said that meant she would just have to come back the next night so that they could try again. And the rest as they say, is history.
And just like those crepes that they did eventually make, their story is sweetness wrapped up in the perfect ending. And it all started with a cookbook.
Meet: Jennifer & Guillaume
Jennifer & Guillaume will be getting married this weekend at the Hillstead Museum and we can't WAIT to celebrate with them! But before the big day, we met up with these guys in Mystic, CT to shoot their engagement shoot. We absolutely LOVE when our couples opt to do an engagement shoot because it gives us a chance to get to know them, their story and to get them comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding. It makes a huge difference. Like we always tell our couples, the last thing you want is for the first time we're pointing a camera at you to be on the wedding day! We had the best time getting to know J&G over a bottle of wine and some pumpkin risotto. We sat out together with them for a dinner under the stars and welcomed in Fall. And now we can't wait for the big day because it really feels like we'll be going to the wedding of friends. Here are some of our favorites from their engagement shoot & we can't wait to share their wedding with you soon. Enjoy!
Today we are SO excited to kick off the week right by bringing you the engagement shoot of Cassandra & Jess. We got together with these guys in their Brentwood neighborhood while we were out in California earlier this month. We spent some time walking around the UCLA campus, hanging out by the coral trees near their home, making friends with their absolutely adorable pooch Wally, and hearing all about the plans for the really BIG day in Napa this coming October. Cassandra is a wedding planner herself, with a resume that includes the likes of Martha Stewart & Mindy Weiss....so you know they've got some pretty incredible things in store. I'm just going to say hot air balloons and leave it at that! :) So for now, enjoy getting to know these guys. Because before you know it, they'll be MARRIED!
