And now....Part II of Ilana & Lee's Elihu Island wedding!
We pick back up with their ceremony, which was held under this gorgeous old tree. I love the wreath Yumiko made for it!
Here we go!
Love that face!
Ten minute rule in full effect!
Then it was time to do some more "Golden Hour" pictures.
Elihu Island is insanely beautiful...I love it there!
Speaking of insanely beautiful! :)
The Liiiiiiiiight!
Meanwhile, cocktail hour was getting into full swing. Ms. Linda Sample & the whole crew from A Thyme to Cook ROCKED. IT. OUT!!
LOVED all the little details that Lucinda from Elihu and Adrienne from True Event put together. They made everything flawless...and that is why I love them!
These garlic knots over hot stones were DELICIOUS! Loved the presentation!
Raw oyster bar...loved how the ice picked up the light
More of that nautical rope and pink & blue hydrangea from the incredibly talented Yumiko!
After cocktail hour it was time to head back to the tent, courtesy of Sperry Tents (which are made of real sail cloth and are amazing!)
First Dance
Cheers!
Then it was time to get our dinner on. And because Lee is a chef, we KNEW it was going to be good! A Thyme to Cook blew us away!
There is nothing quite like a hot mug of peppermint cocoa on a cold snap of a day to get me in the holiday spirit. It is by far, my favorite holiday drink. Ok maybe egg nog is right up there....but honestly who can drink more than a few sips of that stuff. So it's peppermint cocoa by default. A hot mug of that and I'm ready to get back to editing.
Which is what I'm about to do now! Ilana & Lee Pt II coming your way soon!
Peppermintily Yours,
M:)
So go ahead....tell me *your* favorite holiday drink & I'll be sending out a tin of this Williams Sonoma peppermint cocoa to one lucky commenter!
I hope you all had a heart & tummy filling Thanksgiving surrounded by the people you love most. Justin & I got back home from WV at about 8pm last night and instantly started decorating for Christmas. We did a sneak attack under the cover of darkness so we could be the first on our street to have 'em up! Because we are sooo competitive like that! :) Take that completely finished houses! :) :)
And right now as we speak, Cori, our new office diva extraordinaire, is helping me put up our J&M first floor tree. And there will be pictures. Oh yes, there will be pictures! So stay tuned for that.
In the mean time, allow me to start you rockin' into the week with Part I of Ilana & Lee's incredible Elihu Island wedding. We were working with an all-star line up on this one including True Event, Linda Sample and the whole crew at A Thyme to Cook, Miss Yumiko Fletcher of Hana Floral Design and the fabulous ladies of The White Dress by the Shore. So you KNOW it's going to be good!
The amazing thing about weddings on Elihu Island is that the couple gets the whole island to themselves and their friends & family for the whole weekend. So the property really becomes a big part of the celebration. We wanted to reflect that, so we shot a lot of the getting ready details alongside some of the really cool details of the Elihu House.
There are cool old books EVERYWHERE!
And antique badminton raquets. I call this set "Lace & Laces" har, har, har.
Books! And Ilana's super cute & laid back sandals!
LOVED Ilana's jewelry.
And the super-stunning Miss Ilana herself! Absolutely GORGEOUS!
Meanwhile, J was getting some bro-time with Lee. How awesome are the ties he picked for the guys?
I adore this shot J grabbed!
While J was over with the guys, things were really coming together with the ladies. How super adorable are these bridesmaids dresses?
GAH! Ilana it just isn't fair for one person to be so effortlessly beautiful!
YOWZA!!
Then it was time for the First Look in the White Garden. I LOOOOOVE how excited Lee was!
Here we go!
After a few emotional minutes all to themselves, we were ready to get our portraits on.
Yesterday you absolutely blew us away. Helen Hunt in the movie Twister style. When I woke up and checked my inbox, it was overflowing with names. Your names. And they just kept coming.
And I smiled at each and every one.
Because of you, Spread the Love is on. Like flan. Twirling a baton.
So thank you, thank you, thank you for that! From the bottom of our hearts. Honestly, I can't wait to hug every one of you and thank you in person. So, I hope that's not weird! :)
And if you missed out on the Black Friday sale yesterday, we didn't want to leave you out in the cold. So we decided to run an extended sale for the next three days through midnight on Monday, so you can still get in on some pretty may-jah savings! :) But definitely be sure to get in on this one, because this is the absolute lowest these seats will ever be again! :)
We can't wait to see you all there!
So much love,
J&M
Spread the Love: The Black Friday Sale is ON like Flan!!!
